Oh the familiar sting of rejection. When using a line like that I always feel like, 'this is the time the awkwardly funny yet cheesy line will actually work' but no, always reciprocated with the equally awkward yet cowardly shutdown. *sigh* Well at least I can take solace from reading this that I'm not alone. Or is this entirely fiction? If it is, I feel like a bit of an ass, yet still appreciate the realism reflected in it. I've said to much, when all I wanted to say was I like what I read... I think I'll shut-up now before I embarrass myself further.

It's not representative of a conversation I've had recently or an experience I've actually had but more like my perception of the internal dialogue that goes on during these kinds of conversations.
