Auditions vs. a Job----WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?!

I was offered a job Saturday night and I turned it down for theater. But in about two months is prom. I know it seems far away, but saving up early never hurts...especially in my case. well either way, it's a big time commitment. Your grades will probably suffer if you get a job or if you're in the show, so that shouldn't really be a factor in your decision. Plus, it's almost 4th quarter senior year so who gives a damn about grades? You shouldn't. Can you wait till Friday when the list is up to accept or decline the job offer?

As an actor who is starting to struggle and manage with the financial aspects of the job, I can personally say that I would almost all the time take theatre over a job. Of course, for me that means I almost NEVER get to splurge on stuff for myself. Granted, I LOVE theatre. All of my heart and soul and blood, sweat and tears and every part of my emotional being goes into it. I also haven't had a vacation in 2 1/2 years, and went to RenFair last year only because my brother rocks and paid for it. Not that you're going into theatre proffesionally, I'm just giving you a little of my scenario so it can help you make your decision.

That said, BOTH the final show and prom were very important parts of my senior year of high school and I'm glad I got the opportunity to do both. And remember you have a $100 check coming from 233 in May (assuming you're an Honor Thespian).
