Hermitage is over. I'm back in the real world now and all seems to be going well. My weekend is full of delightful and fun things to do! I am very excited about this

I'm glad you found out what was eating the mint. I hate earwigs so much! They have no purpose other than to disgust! We had a problem one year with them in the other apt, thankfully it hasn't happened again (knock on wood..).
I used to have a huge fear of earwigs when I was little. We had a lovely lilac bush in our backyard and it got infested with earwigs and we had to cut it down. This made me very sad and also very afraid of earwigs since they were all over our backyard and kept finding their way into our house. Yuck! Luckily we got rid of them and haven't had a problem with earwigs since. They just better not mess with my mint again or else! *shakes fist while trying to look all menacing and mean*
i asked my mom about the mint a little while back and she said you should use some insecticide soap and make sure you give the plant a good hosing, otherwise it may not be suitable for consumption becauase of the buggies. even if you dont have the insecticide, the washing would probably be a good idea. i don't like earwigs either, or silverfish which have absolutely no purpose either in my opinion. i think im in for monday barring any unforseen circumstances.
Thanks for the advice. I haven't taken any trimmings off that plant yet, just off my other mint plant and I definitely won't until I know it's safe and my plant is all heathly and such. I don't like silverfish either! I am not really a fan of any kind of creepy, crawly critter...
Wow, I just had an epiphany about what you meant by Hermitage. See, to me, it's a big museum in St. Petersburg and I couldn't figure out why you would be referring to it. But I get it now. Boy, I feel clever...
haha! that crossed through my head too, only less exact than yours, i just knew it was a place though, and then i thought "OOOHHHH...hermit-age...right" what can i say, we're keepers
