Question for those who were teens in the 80's...

...is it just me or do you hate some sassy 22/23/24 year old telling you the style trends of the 1980s and then when you gently say "We didn't wear that." or "I don't remember that being big in the 80s." they tell you that you don't know what you're talking about because like "Duh. I saw it on 13 going on 30 and that was how they did it."

HATE that! Stupid idiots. Just because they were around for maybe 30 seconds of the 80's they think they know everything!

I know. They think they know the hair...make up...etc. The one that gets me is that they don't realize neon was big from 1990 - 1992, NOT the 80s. I love how they'll do the late 80s outfits, but early 80s hairstyles. LoL

It is sooooooooo annoying. But, I'll put them in their place if I have to. :)

Amen to that! You know what scares me? These "Retro 80's Parties". It makes me feel old knowing the era I grew up in is now considered "Retro"!

But they still seem to get it wrong. I had the neon in the 90's. OMG...what was UP with that era?

We still have a hair crimper that has the shapes on it that my mom bought when we were kids. LOL

I know. These young gals get it so wrong these days.

And, yeah...Retro? The years I was a teen? RETRO? NO! Retro is the 1960s! Or the 1950s! NOT THE DECADE THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO! Now I feel old. And you're a couple years younger than me! Talk about me feeling old! :) haha

I have NO idea what was up with the 1990s. I went shopping with a friend (who was a co-worker who is 23) for a *GASP!* RETRO 80s Party. I asked the girl if she had anything that looked like 80s and she brings me NEON! I was like "Uh...that was 1990." And she looks at me like I'm CRAZY! I hang my head in shame when I look at pics of me from the 90s, but not the 80s. How odd is that! haha

I'd still have my crimper...but I pretty much burnt it out. I spent almost all of 1987 and 1988 with crimped hair. :) I wish I still had it. It was a pink Conair one. I had to recently buy one. Lemme tell you! I was in crimping HEAVEN! :)
