You need to contact base legal, and bring a copy of your lease. They should be able to help you. Which base are you at? I'm an ombudsman in the Norfolk area and know a lot of resources here in VA.

NAB Little Creek. I live off of Lynnhaven Pkwy. I contacted you back in Dec about my landlords threatening to evict us. I'll have to navigate my way to base legal - will they talk to me? My husband is deployed.

They absolutely will help. Also call the housing referral center on Hampton Blvd, they should have people there to help. Their landlord tenant dispute number is 445-4569, and main line is 445-2803. Navy Legal at Norfolk can get you pointed the right direction, their number is 757-444-5300.

Wow, talk about hitting close to home. I live in Reflections off S. Lynnhaven and where as I'm not having the same issues, the towing company here also walks by residents cars and checks license plates for expired tags and they towed a neighbor of mine for 'expired' tags, but they weren't expired.

But Legal should definitely be able to help you.. A friend of mine was able to get out of her lease about 2 months ago by simply saying she didn't feel safe there anymore and since our husbands were deploying they worked with her. They didn't ask for any proof or anything. They gave her some paperwork and someone called her leasing office and they broke her lease a week later.
