Question....

Hey everyone, we just got our new orders and we are going to Norfolk, VA. I was just wondering if any of you have any advice on good areas to look for places or just general info you might find helpful. Thanks in advance!

Don't live in Norfolk. Norfolk is hit or miss. They are working on revitalizing it but in the mean time I would recommend living in Virginia Beach.

My husband and I just transferred from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and one of the best places to live if you're stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base is an apartment complex called Breezy Point. Another place to look at, if he is being stationed at JEB Little Creek is North Shore Condos. Breezy Point is VERY military friendly, in fact, most of the people that live there are Navy or local college students. It's a nice gated community and the rent doesn't use up all your BAH. The one near Little Creek has different kinds of places. We lived in a 3 bedroom condo with 2 master bedrooms and 1 small bedroom. It also had 2 1/2 bathrooms. Very nice place, and not too expensive ( ... )

Not a problem. I hope that you're able to see the good parts of the area and not all the bad!
