The Church Bit

For the past 13 years, I've been holding a grudge. It's not a huge grudge, and it hasn't really grown in all that time, but it's there, and it sort of digs into me every now and then. It involves a girl (me), a boy, and his mother ( Read more... )

Oh, now you got me all teary in the middle of a work day!

You have so much to be proud of, and I'm so proud of YOU for being able to not only go there and face her, but that you DID face her and were able to move on. That took a lot of courage. Your family IS beautiful and wonderful. I'm so happy for you navy!! *huge huge hugs*

I don't know if it was so much courage as finally realizing that whatever negative thoughts she had about me wasn't my burden but hers, and that I needed to stop carrying it.

I have to admit, your post about moving on sort of inspired my post. So thanks to you, Tori. :)

Whenever I think you can't surprise me again, you do.

I am so very proud of you, sweetie. For seeing yourself and the past... for going home... for facing that woman and mostly for seeing that you did not need her. You are no longer That Girl. You're the loving momma of three beautiful active healthy children and the wife of a man who loves you, and so much more.

It's funny, sometimes, when I think of how long it's taken me to figure most of that stuff out.

*hugs*

Thanks, cookie. :)

Be proud of yourself for figuring it out while you're still young, honey. Not everyone is so clued in to themselves. Look at me. *L* You're free of the weight of that girl and that woman. You don't have to carry through life now.

Well, I am sitting here crying. Navy, you are an amazing, beautiful, wonderful woman. You and I are tied together in a special way, and can you believe that I was thinking of you today when I was driving home from Wal-Mart? I was thinking of how precious you are, and how your heart is so tender, and that you are strong and brave, and that I am glad to know you, not just as a birthmother, but as a friend. It gives me some sort of hope that maybe my relationship with my biological mom can be restored one day.

I am so glad to hear that your heart is open to forgiveness, and that you don't need The Mother to give you a nod. You are worth so much more than even you see. And, in my eyes, you were never That Girl. Ever.

*many many squishy hugs*

Damn Navy, I gotta Ditto what everyone has said, including the tears.

What happened in your youth before you knew who you are and what you're worth means nothing now. You were just a kid. You were just finding your footing.

You are an amazing woman now. You have a life ahead of you that YOU MADE YOURSELF. You did good. And no old bitter church ladies will ever matter. Just you and what you think... and you better always think good stuff, cause you're hella smart and know better now. *hugs*

I don't know about the amazing part, but I'll gladly wear the mantel of 'woman'.

Somehow, the image of bitter church ladies just made me giggle. I can just picture them now, sitting in the basement of some church, quilting madly while trying to think of new havoc to wreak.

I'M 20 DAMMIT!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

Sorry... Old church lady rant...

I can't believe you're 20 already. It seems like just the other day you were graduating from high school.

And tell those church ladies that you're much too young to get married. Men need some extra time, lol!

I'm impressed you got beyond it, I know how hard it is to move past the places that you make for yourself when you were younger.

Just as a side note: why is it that everyone I know with navy in their username is Mormon? It skeers me. *LOL*
