And that's the end!

Back from Iowa, where I had a lovely time chilling with Becka. We didn't get to ride bikes, but we did play Wii and Fluxx and Frisbee (both frisbee golf and just running around), and we had a LotR marathon and watched Doctor Who and Monty Python... it was a good time. It's always good to hang with Becka ( Read more... )

Sorry there about Iowa. I hadn't heard the news (or maybe I was distracted?). Still, now it's time to implement PLAN Q: TEXAS. You'll get to be an adult and start something brand new. It'll be cool. Or at least productive. Really. I suppose not as cool as college, but still pretty cool to realize where your own two feet are... and when it's not you can gripe to us.

We did have an awesome time last week. I liked the crepe and the weather and the games. We'll make a cameo in MN on April 10th for a wedding. Will you still be there?

I didn't find out myself until I got home--the letter was waiting for me, as indeed I guessed it would be. Irony, to receive my rejection letter from Iowa while I was in Iowa.

Plan Q will indeed be underway soon enough--and hopefully it'll turn out well--but I'll make sure that it's not so soon that I'll miss your trip to MN. I'll make sure that I'll still be around on the 10th.

It's good you've still got your final backup plan. Even if you don't stick with the teaching, you are Going Out There and Trying New Things and you'll hit on something you like eventually.
Of course, if this were a narrative-run universe like Discworld, the last-minute Oxford acceptance letter would arrive tomorrow. Stupid real world.

Yeah, I forget when I learned the importance of backup plans, but it's a philosophy I espouse in the strongest possible terms.

If the real world was like Discworld, many things would be awesome. Rough luck that we're stuck here. Grr.
