BLIND GUARDIAN - LIVE AT THE TROCADERO (and Roxy Theater)

It was a frosty night in Philadelphia on that Saturday, the second day of December 2006.  December is not a month to stand outside in the cold night for more than an hour in any city in Pennsylvania.  The Trocadero is a small club which hosts numerous concerts, mostly of the heavy metal ( Read more... )

Hey, that was a great summary of the concerts (I went to the one in Seattle). Mind if I friend you? Your journal seems pretty interesting and I'm always happy to have more metalheads on my friendslist.

Hey dude, that was a fantastic entry.. I wish I was there witnessing the whole thing unfold. I feel really proud to be one of the handful Indians besides yourself, though I be ashamed that I don't really know the lyrics to the songs. I hope and pray that I can see a Maiden and Guardian concert each before I pass on.

Thanks man. But if I am not mistaken, aren't you somewhere in Singapore? I am pretty sure Maiden tours the North East. You could get a chance to watch them. Your best bet is to make a trip to Japan sometime and watch both Maiden and Guardian as both of them are pretty huge there.

Yes, I am living in Singapore. Flying to Japan would really cost me a bomb to watch them there.. If they could play somewhere closer like Taiwan or Hong Kong I'd definitely do everything I can to watch them there (I'm already kicking myself for missing Edguy when they performed in Taiwan in March this year coz I got the info too late). Its alot easier than going over to Japan.

Leaves Eyes is the greatest band of all time!!! Obviously, they are way beyond your puny ability to understand great music!

Iam not a metal head...Bumped in here in the course of my cyber travels.
I must say you do write with passion .... but then what pansy goof balls play in Kumbh mela is also music...!! Music is universal whoever it may be played by .... pansy or metal balls.

Well thank you for the comment on my writing. You make a point about music being universal. But, after all music is the language of emotions. Can the Indian singer Yesudas sing about demons and devilry in Carnatic classical? Can Slayer sing love songs? Can Cannibal Corpse sing stuff that Air Supply sings about? The point is every band 'chooses' its category of music to express. And if it does anything half assed, then it is committing blashphemy of music overall.

Agreed !!
If relegating singers in the kumbh mela to pansy goof balls is your way of conveying your point then you are perfectly right.

Criticizing someone or something is an art. But make sure that you choose your analogies and comparisons carefully so that you don't hurt others in the
process.

Not that iam a singer in the kumbh mela....but this is my two cents !!
