The Passion of The Christ is in theaters soon - this week on Wednesday.. what do you think about this movie? I'm going to see it for sure - the trailers were enough to convince me. I read somewhere that it's the widest opening ever for a subtitled movie; I have a feeling subtitles won't detract from the full effect of this movie though. After looking at the trailers which have no subtitles or english at all, it was reinforced for me that lack of spoken english in this film won't hurt one bit. To sum up my impression of The Passion: it's a work of art. Good Website Another fascinating aspect to this movie is all the controversy that has been generated about it. Some people, not really representative of Jewish people, but rather self appointed Jewish spokespeople, such as Abraham Foxman from the Anti-Defamation League, seem to have been attempting to denounce this film for months as being anti-Semitic. The news reported that they even stole the script last year! But here's what some Jews say (Jews who don't make it their job to

omgoodness you guys are hilarious. that was my initial reaction and also my response to the angry comments whos' commentors didnt realize what kind of idiots they sound like..
but at the same time, really insensitive i mean, noone would (i think?) make a mock community of Al Queda and joke about september 11...
youre harmless, yes. yet, making the Holocaust a mere joke, and completely disrediting and depreciating the horror of it.. that isnt harmless. the holocaust is such a complex issue: of foreign policy, of psychology- personal (hitlers) and mass psychology, sociology, of propoganda and rhetoric.. i really think theres so much to be learned from the Holocaust. you didnt offend me, as i said, youre harmless. yet things like this undermine the atrocity of this history: a very recent history.
Well more Ukrainians were killed by Stalin, than Jews by Hitler, and no one calls it a tragedy. I guess they got over unlike some people! Anyway, this journal isn't meant to be taken seriously... but I think you knew that anyway ;)
well, you see, Stalin, for all that he was, wasnt a Nazi and so my bringing HIM into a community called "nazi_party" is, well, arbitrary? lol and wouldnt make sense furthermore, Hitler killed a lot more then just jews, as im sure you know, and i didnt specify- nor imply- explicitly jews. that, my friend, you did.
i think all educated people call Stalins regime a tragedy(well, no not true, because there are considerable amounts of russians who still like/admire Stalin.. but the majority) as they do the U.S. role in the massacres in Guatemala, to name just one.
anyway, yes, tis a joke.. but that was my whole point in the first place.
*shrugs* or maybe im just being too symbolic and all that shit haha keep on going with the squiggling hitlers!
