Joachim Schepke

Feb 27, 2011 20:04

Well, well, well, it turns out that not all nicknames are bald-faced exaggerations. I present Kapitänleutnant Joachim Schepke, "Ihrer Majestät bestaussehender Offizier."

At the Berlin Sportpalast in February 1941.

Autographed photo after receiving the RK: I think the oakleaves are also on it, but can't see the picture well enough.

Apparently this is him too. On the deck of his U-boat perhaps?

Schepke (centre) and the crew of his last ship, U100.

A propaganda photo by Heinrich Hoffman and artificial colourisation.

A colour wartime plate of Schepke, presumably when he still commanded U29.

The 2011 calendar link, if anyone missed it while nursing hangovers from the new Year.
