We are looking at countries like Korea as a model. The problem is, Korean students are taught to pass tests, and they spend their entire day at school supposedly getting "educated." What happens is they don't actually know anything, and are incapable of critical thinking. They also were never actually allowed to be kids--so much of their time was spent in cram schools after regular school that they never get to do kid stuff and play. In addition, they never learn anything practical--they don't know how to cook, clean, do their own laundry, etc. Their parents are so worried about their "education" that they just make their kids study all of the time. Their kids never actually learn anything from their parents, they just get told to study, so they never develop any decision-making skills or have any real survival capabilities ( ... )
