You may want to try contacting Elizabeth Holt at (919) 876 7692. She wasn't accepting patients when I called her about a year ago, but she might be now.
You can also try Dr. Cory Annis, who is a pediatrician by trade, but has a lot of trans-patients, too. She's in Carboro, and is reachable at 919-933-8381.
my endocrinologist is Dr. Deanna Jones, in Mebane. As a last resort, you can try to get an appointment with her, but, she doesn't take many new patients and it might be a few months wait to get in to see her.
Oh, as for expenses-- I pay about $100 a visit for bloodwork etc., and I pay 50 a vial for T and injection supplies, which lasts a little over six months (200mg/mL, and I inject 0.5cc every 10 days).
I got my script the first time I was in their office, because I had had bloodwork done previous to that. I went back in six months later. And now I go every year.
But, I've never had my hormone levels checked. Just liver panel, etc.
I know that at one point Dr. Annis in Carrboro wasn't taking new patients, but that may have changed. I've been seeing her for almost four years now and I highly recommend her. She may also have suggestions for other practitioners if she can't take you on at the moment. Dr. Holt is the only person I know in Raleigh, but as stated above she may not be taking on new patients. Sadly, there are so few trans-friendly physicians around here that it can be difficult to find someone who has room to see new folks.
Right now I have insurance so I'm not sure about the cost of office visits, but a vial of T was about $112 without coverage and needles/syringes run me about $12-20 for a pack of fifty or so. I know that other methods can be more expensive (I knew a guy on T gel that paid over $300 for a container that lasted only a few months) but I'm not sure exactly how much they all are.
