Ready for our next challenge? Join us for our 10th anniversary of the NCIS Big Bang Challenge hosted at the NCIS_Bang community on LJ!
Can you believe it? This will be the 10th anniversary of the NCIS Big Bang running from the NCIS_Bang community on LiveJournal! We welcome you all to join us for our 2023 NCIS Big Bang Challenge!
Art must relate to the story it represents and must include NCIS characters. Art is not to be posted prior to your scheduled posting date. Most artists at least provide cover art or a banner, but you are not limited to that. Art may be photoshop, illustrations, videos, etc. You should produce at least one piece of art that can be posted with or linked to from the story. You may certainly produce as much art as you would like. If you want to portray a scene from each chapter, a few favorite scenes, chapter headings, icons, wallpapers, create multiple banners, etc., you are more than welcome to do so. You may submit all or allow the Author to choose (and they may choose ALL!). Your art should be based on the fiction it is representing.
As some Authors struggle to find betas and cheerleaders, it's nice to know upfront if this is a service the Artist may be willing to offer (this is not a commitment, just a possibility). It's perfectly fine either way and your Author may already have a beta (or cheerleader) they normally use, but if you're possibly willing please let us know.
You are required to stay in touch with any Authors whose summaries you claim. By participating in this challenge, someone else is depending on you. It's not fair to drop out of communication and leave them with no idea of what happened to you. If you fail to respond to your Author or the moderator within a reasonable amount of time, you may be banned from future challenges. You are expected to stay in touch with any assigned partner/match-up and to send the completed artwork to the author by 30th September. If you don't have a title by then, you can use "Story by (author's name)". You are also expected to monitor this community and adhere to the schedule.
Not responding to your partner or mod within a reasonable timeframe (1-2 weeks) is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Minimum communication expectation:
1) After the claims
2) When you receive work from your partner (rough draft, completed story, artwork draft, completed artwork)
3) If your partner or mod emails you at any time, for any reason, you are expected to respond within 1 week.
Communications: Simple responses are acceptable. When you receive a story file, please respond to your author ("Got it" or "Thanks for sending" is fine). If you're busy or will be out of touch for a while, you don't need to explain in any detail, but a simple, "Really busy, but will be done on time" or "may not have email access for a few days" is fine.

I don't check this email all the time unless rough drafts are due, so if you aren't added in a couple days, feel free to comment to this post and that will nudge me.
This calendar includes sign-ups, check-ins, rough draft due dates and will include the posting schedule as well when it is available.
NEW Jan 2021 - Proxy help available for challenges!
You no longer need to have an LJ or DW account to participate in our challenges! We now have volunteer proxies who can provide services to assist those without LJ and DW accounts if they would like to participate in challenges.
