First of all, I would like to apologize to all of you for taking so long to update on what's going on. I wanted to discuss it with Devan first, but she hasn't been online in several days.

I have thought about things for a long time and have decided to go ahead and declare tigerlily0484 the Session 5 Last Fiction Writer Standing. However, I'm going to do ( Read more... )

I must say I am a bit disappointed in the fact that, while you both are very quick to screen any comments that contain the least bit of criticism about the way this competition is run, you thought it necessary to bash colorguard28 in this post. Regardless of whether or not you agree with her actions, I think her complaint had merit. While you could have used this post as a means to diffuse the situation and congratulate tigerlily0484 for her win, I feel you only further exacerbated it. I have a feeling you're screening these comments as well, so you also aren't giving people the chance to discuss this openly, which I suspect will only lead to misunderstandings and ill will among other members. That's really not fair and doesn't speak well of the community. It seems like you want to be able to say whatever you choose about certain people and events, but you don't want to give others the right to state their view ( ... )

I really don't feel as though I'm bashing colorguard28, merely explaining my side of the story and what happened. I only mention that I find it hardly fair that she gave us no opportunity to reply to her. I ran this post by a friend who has no knowledge of the show or what has been going on and she said that it was very well put, and I doubt she would lie to me.

I don't think it's very fair to spread around the fandom something that we had done without giving us time to reply to her or fix the problem. As I said, I was unaware previously of her situation and I honestly did not think that making the prompt a crossover would come to this.

Also, because most comments during the competition require screening it is the default setting for posts and I often forget to change it. It is not meant as an an attempt to hide anything, especially since in order to reply to a comment you must unscreen it.

I can understand your frustration, I really can, but this feels like you're trying to throw her under the bus with this rather than simply explaining that she conceded and that you want to clear up any confusion without making it seem like you believe she was trying to start something (which was the impression I got). And I don't doubt your friend would think it was well put, but, remember, she's your friend and automatically has a personal bias towards you. I don't say that is a bad thing (I have a personal bias toward my friends), but to me if felt more like an attack on one member than an explanation of what happened ( ... )

I was merely explaining my side of the story. I even admitted that up until this point we had had no final prompt even though they're usually written up before hand, which I believe Devan told her.

I recall the round in particular that you mention as far the screening goes and I believe that that was around the time LJ was having all those DDoS attacks and continuous problems and the setting got changed somehow at the community.

Thanks for unscreening Colleen's comments, as I think she makes excellent points ( ... )
