I've had a couple of nominations *g* plus I've been making a few and I'm afraid several questions have arisen as a result ( Read more... )

1a. Oh, good.
1b. *Gets deer stalker hat out* (Okay, so he never actually wore it, but . . )

2. That's what I thought, but I thought I'd just double check.

3a. I'm glad we're in accord.

3b. *Nods*

3c. That's a good point about saying they might be contacted again. I'll add it to my 'email'. My main reason for asking if we should let the person know the author doesn't want the nomination to go forward is to prevent that nominator at the end asking 'why isn't the story(ies) I nominated listed for voting.

3d. Again, with the I don't want people coming back at the end and wondering why the story hasn't gone forward.

3e. I assume that applies with our own stories? If we're in charge of one of the pairing whom we write and we get one URL we can give another one?

4. Make sense.

Thanks for your thoughts.

1. Oh, good. I am glad to hear it all worked well.

2. I know. It seemed daft to have to put the comments, but also worth just checking what people were doing generally.

3. Very sensible. That's what I shall do.

And you didn't bother to tell the nominator that it didn't fit in AU? Would you have done had it only been nominated for AU? I just don't want a disgruntled nominator at the end of it.

Thank you for that.

4. That sounds a good idea. And interestingly looking around the stories I'd like to nominate I found myself thinking 'damn, this actually doesn't fit into any of the ones we've got'. Maybe next year we do need a couple of more general ones like 'First Time' 'Established Relationship' or something?

I agree - I just like to 'be prepared' *g*

I agree with what everyone has said so far.... I have one question though.... I have one nom in Tony/Kate, but none in the other categories. What happens if I don't get any more noms?

My feeling is that if there aren't at least five noms for Tony/Kate that there should be no voting at all.

I may end up with the same issue as I've had zero noms for Gibbs/Ziva and Gibbs/Abby (which really surprises me).

I think the rule said (at least they did at one point, I'll check) that if it stays that way the nomination(s) will go into the 'Rare Pairs' section.

I have checked and they don't - I could have sworn I saw that at one point. But I guess that would be one way of dealing with it, the story or stories get added to 'Rare Pairs'.

Well, you've had two good answers already. I have nothing new to add, other than that I've read your questions and agree :) I definitely think we should give the categories a few more weeks and then see what needs to be combined. Some of the pairings have a lot more nominations than other, and some don't have any at all.

The only thing about nominating stories, is that we can't nominate our own stories, but other than that, I don't see a point in making a comment about it if we're in charge of the pairing in question - that seems kinda silly ^^

I was just thinking ahead *g*

I thought it sounded silly, but I just wanted to check.

And may I just confirm a couple of things:

1. Can we nominate more than one story for the same pairing in the same category? i.e. If I'm nominating 'Rare Pairings' can I nominated two for 'Romance'?

2. Did we at one point agree that if we didn't get even five nominations for a pairing we'd move what we did get to the 'Rare Pairings' section for voting?

1. Yes. Someone commented with the same question on the rules post, and I don't see why not. There can obviously be more than one story that I love and want to nominate. Once voting comes up, everyone will have to pick one, but nominating is completely open.

2. Yes. It seems fair.

1. Yes, I saw that after I'd checked. That is good to hear.

2. Good. I am glad.

Thanks for the confirmation.
