Hey, glad you had fun at camp. Can you please clarify something? I understood that you're not currently on MonUCS committee. Just so that no one misinterpret your post, can you specify which "archives" are you gathering this information for? Otherwise people might read this as hostile lobbying from outside committee.
Ollie, I think that sometimes you take it upon yourself to "gather information" or push through an idea which has occurred to you without necessarily going through the committee or president of the day. This is known in politics as lobbying and doing it without the buy-in or permission of the powers-that-be is hostile. You're using power of alliances rather than direct power to posture a position. (To put it in organisational behaviour speak.) Whilst you do this with honourable intention and with the best interests of the group at heart, it has appeared to some at times that your are doing an "end run" around those elected or appointed to committee

I asked Ollie to finish this one off for me - this was a project he started when he was still camp officer. It's Clare's job now, but it made more sense for him to wrap it up. We didn't really have a camp officer for the last camp. Evil stepped in and saved the day.
He had the president's permission and has the president's thanks.
Kitchen was a goodish space. Oven was eccentric but relatively easy to work once you got the damn thing lit. Good amount of prep space, if not quite logically arranged in stations. Only two stools (one of which I donated to the keyboard) so seated work was tricky. I ended up with a very bad back at the end of the weekend, but that's due to stirring too much risotto more than anything. Bit of a shortage of big pots, but that's as much of a reflection on my cooking style - plus, i get the impression caterers tend to come in with their own gear. Hence the bain marie and the high tech electric oven, I suppose.
Frank the dishwasher was a little obtrusive, I admit. A few more helpers around mealtime might have helped there. On that note, would the games room be a better room to rehearse in with warmer weather? That would allow the dining room to be semi-permanently set up and create less work every time the scenery needed changing..?
I had a look at the original post a while ago. Alex reccommended I take a look at it when I first put my hand up for camps officer. I can't think of any extra notes for Don Bosco at the moment but I'll keep you posted if I do.
As Incoming Camp Officer I find this extremely useful and generous, Ollie, and not at all like hostile lobbying.
From the perspective of a kitchen slut who has seen/worked in a great variety of kitchens I can certainly say that Don Bosco rates fairly highly. The major issues were (as Chas mentioned) shortage of large pots, shortage of chairs for doing preparation sitting down, they also had only four chopping boards (none of which were coloured, despite their obvious "colour code your chopping boards" notices

I give the kitchen three and a half (clean) pots.
