Yay camp!

Camp was fantastic again.  I think that MonUCS has really hit the spot with the revue and similar group-stuff.  I know that not everyone was having a perfect time, but a lot of people were having a really good time, and more importantly, I think that a lot of the Society activity and so on hit the spot.  Revue ran for a long time, - for the most ( Read more... )

Whilst there were a few hitches, on balance it generally seemed a pretty darn fine site. However, the camp price seemed high, so I'm not sure that it's going to become a staple (depends on what everyone wants, of course)

The smell in the loos may have been due to the gray water system.
On the kitchen front, I'd suggest for future camps at that site, that the caterer not plan any food that requires electric appliances. Poor Pat had to stick his head in at one point to ask when we'd be finished with the beaters! It was extremely steamy in the kitchen with the hatch closed and impossible to work in there for long periods without putting the extractor fan on to cool down. For a summer camp, you could do an outdoor lunch to save some of the kitchen noise.
Otherwise, it was such a beautiful site! The couches and the lovely countryside, definately a winner.

I saw a garage of some sort on my walk (the grounds were rather nice for this on the sunny Saturday).

Overall I enjoyed the site a lot, mind you as a non-rehearser I had fewer requirements I suspect. I loved the way everything was under one roof - good in particular for a cold weather camp.

You may remember at pub me expressing an interest in pushing for a game of Psychiatrist, but in the end everyone seemed happy in the three or four spontaneous activities that happened after revue.

My overall impression (having been away for a while) is that newer members are integrating well into the group.

One of the best ever camps for me. It was just lovely and I think MonUCS now is the best it's ever been, pretty much. And that's saying something, given that my memories go back to the Carboniferous Era.
