No, it's NOT The Left that censors. Is THIS the kind of action that MLK or Gandhi would have endorsed? I do not call this kind of action "civil disobedience". THAT would imply CIVILITY. To all those there- Nice work, children.http://news.
Did they attack the military, or were they just protesting? That is my question. They shouldn't attack the military even if they are against the war. I'm against the war, but I support the troops. I do not advocate hurting or insulting any of the troops. It is not their fault that they are in Iraq. They do what they have to. I also support anyone that protests the war, provided they do it peacefully.

Ripping up the Army literature, throwing things at them, even yelling things at them, is, I'm sorry, childish, unseemly and probably (destruction of property) illegal. And I would never participate in that kind of silliness even were it a cause I believe in. Kids today...
I didn't see anything about throwing things or anything like that in the picture. Where is the actual story. Would like to read it. Can't seem to find it.
"After about a 10-minute standoff during which protesters tore up U.S Army literature,"
Maybe they didn't throw things, I thought that's what they were doing in the picture. Instead they were just being extremely rude (and somewhat intimidating). I apologize for my misstatement, but feel it detracts little from my point.
Considering that recruiters tell outright lies in order to enlist more people (not to mention that the military gets treated like shit, both internally and externally), I don't blame them at all. They have no place in community colleges or high schools. They have no place walking through the poor malls and looking for another minority meat shield to stand in the way of a bullet for pay that is below the poverty line.
I'm still looking for the recruiter that signed up my husband, and when I find him, I'm going to hurt him.
I'm sorry, but I disagree. The last great nation that survived without a professional military was... well, there wasn't one. And sorry to say, young men and women who are willing to sacrifice for what they believe in is what MADE this country, and has saved it (and other nations) through 2 centuries.
I agree that the military is not paid enough, and are not treated well enough, and will fight for the betterment of their situation till the day I die.
Disagree if you like, but the military has caused our family (and many others) nothing but misery and problems. The bill of rights does not apply if you're a military member, or a member of their family. Worse, you can pretty much be ostracized for showing any form of intelligence.
I could go on, but it makes me sick just to think about it.
