Sharing books

Would anyone be interested in a book sharing circle?  I don't know if that's what I should really call it.  But what I was thinking was that I would make a list of all my books and anyone who wanted to participate would do the same. And then we could request to borrow/exchange books from one another. The library doesn't always have the books I want ( Read more... )

No thanks. I *might* read another book after I finish Brisngr, but there's no guarantees. Library works for me though.

I'm sure he's lots of fun! I looked at his picture on the website you posted.

Not too interested in the pool, thanks!

I generally like the library, but recently I wanted to read the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodking and every one of the 11 book series was on backorder for at least 2-3 rotations. I have subsequently purchased almost every book in the series at $7.99 - 10-40% off depending on the coupon from Borders.

Also, individually owned books don't have cooties and other transferable "treats" that a public one may (or may not) have ;)

Did you try to reserve them? I was 5th in line for Brisngr and got it in 2 days.

And I like cooties. They're cute.

Honestly, creating a database of our books would be...painful at best. Not gonna happen. :)

I would say I'd be interested in the TAC, but I have a pool I can try to swim laps in. It's not long, but it'll work, at least for now.

That's fine. I wasn't thinking it would be anything elaborate. But I thought it would be fun to put together a list of what I have, since I don't even remember anymore and that it would also be fun to see what others have so as to: 1.Learn more about their tastes (and maybe spark a few discussions, stories, or jokes) 2.Get ideas of good books to read that I wouldn't have thought to ask about otherwise and 3.Find out quickly if there is a book I could borrow that I otherwise would have had to wait to get from the library or pay for.

I know there is Good Reads I was thinking of something different.

Oh well. I'll do it anyway and if anyone wants to borrow something let me know.
