I originally wrote this to my parents, but I'm lazy and so I'll cut the relevant bits and post the rest here ( Read more... )

I haven't really eaten anything very spicy here.

Mos Burger is kind of spicy but not much and that's the only think that I have found.

Have you tried MosBurger??? Yum a million times better than McDonalds.

Did you have to do your speech in Japanese??? I had to. I made some pronounciation mistakes and some kids laughed but I laughed along with them.
I've had 2 classes but they were both introductory classes. My name is.... I like to... type of thing.

Next week I will have a regular composition class. :)

I had to greet them in Japanese, then switch over to English with the head English teacher translating. So that's what I did.

Haven't had Mos Burger yet. The only one I know of is right by Kofu City station, so I'll have to try it sometime. Most things are better than McDonald's though (have you tried the Japanese McDs yet? Different menu!).

As I wrote, the lesson above is what I did with the first years. Today I had the "cherry" class, which is for special needs/retarded/developmentally challenged kids. 4 of them. Turns out I'm the main teacher there, and I had 30 minutes to come up with a worksheet that they could do. Nice of them to tell me beforehand, right? %%

traditional breakfast rice-gruel dish? anonymous September 8 2008, 09:44:38 UTC
What is it? is it egg + rice + soy sauce? if so i hate that too. I just don't like raw egg on rice. I don't like any raw stuff. I love natto though. natto + rice + miso soup = great breakfast.

No, it was pretty much just rice and rice "sauce". Like rice oatmeal, maybe? Dunno how to describe it. I first saw it at a chinese reataurant though, so it may be Chinese...
