WHAT IS NATION CORP.?
Nation Corp. is a globally inspired, innovative company that is renowned for its production of highly desired consumer goods worldwide. From dog food to computer parts, this company that started off with coffee now specializes in numerous different areas, offering high quality products to the general public at reasonable prices. Established in 1970, what had started as a coffee company soon became a multimillion dollar corporation, offering jobs to thousands of people worldwide with headquarters in over 30 different countries. It's main HQ is located in Hetabrook, NY, where it has been growing in size since the 80's.
In September, 2010, the main HQ's upper echelon was dissolved and disbanded, despite record profits in a slumped market. When asked the reasoning behind it, the company's president, Mr. Romulus Remus, declined to comment on camera. However, he was cited off the record as saying that the change was due to the fact that he was searching for fresh minds to help his company grow in a changing era. Economists alike were dumbfounded by the once stable companies actions and unanimously called the move "risky at best."
Late-October, 2010, a massive rehiring on a world wide scale brought a great sense of diversity to the American HQ as the top tiers were refilled with new workers, all hired from diverse global environments, from varying careers, and from assorted walks of life. The rather drastic lay-off of the high ranking staff 2 months prior caused a decline in the companies stock as consumer and employee faith and trust fell. However, with the new re-energizing of the company, gradually they will make up the distance, projected by some economists to surpass their highest net worth of the past 25 years within the next 4 months.
EXACTLY WHAT DOES NATION CORP. DO?
Develop and mass-produce a wide range of assorted products. Happenings at the main HQ in Hetabrook generally involve think-tank and prototype development activities. The looming tower acts as a strong symbol of the company's public image of sleek and innovative design.
WHO FOUNDED THE COMPANY?
Romulus Remus at age 22 after moving to the states from his native Italy. The sophisticated and tactfully dressed Roman man has been described as being a bit of a playboy, who, despite his age, has a very fresh and adaptive personality. Self-taught in economics and in engineering and without a completed university degree, he is none the less a very strong proponent of education, donating to numerous charities and scholarships devotedly.
WHY HAS [MY CHARACTER] BEEN SUMMONED TO WORK AT NATION CORP.?
[Your character] was scouted out by the company for outstanding characteristic unique to their motherland with the hopes of adding a much needed global insight to the development process as the world continues to get smaller and smaller. How they got your records? Well. That's classified.
WHAT DOES "Did your character join the company willing" MEAN?
Had your character been hard-headed and stubborn about the rather generous invitation to join Nation Corp., they would have shortly found themselves out of a job, their bank accounts frozen, and/or homeless after a strange eviction notice. Though, of course, this is all a coincidence. We assure you Nation Corp. played no hand in this.
No worries, though, because Nation Corp.'s offer still stands even if you are a jobless, poor, hobo! And don't worry about work visas, they have all of that covered. (Criminals included.)
WHERE DOES MY CHARACTER LIVE?
Moving to another country can be quite a hassle and the company understands that. Thus why they paid for all moving expenses to the company owned and sponsored "dorms." They say this term lightly because each person gets an individual room in the newly built complex that comes complete with a kitchen, den, full bath, and master bedroom with walk in closet. The rent is subtracted from your paycheck.
CAN MY CHARACTER MOVE OUT?
Of course. You are more than welcome to move out and find another place to live. But this is New York, so good luck finding a cheap place. Furthermore, the rent for your company apartment will still be subtracted from your check. But yes, you are more than free to move out.
OKAY, I AM IN GROUP XYZ AND I WANT TO BE IN GROUP ABC. CAN I SWITCH?
At this time, no. You have been chosen to work in XYZ for a reason and unless you are moved for one reason or another, you will remain in group XYZ. If you have a need for transfer, please see your group's director.

HOW MANY CHARACTERS AM I ALLOWED TO HAVE?
At the time of writing this, we are only allowing 2 characters, fanon or otherwise. If this changes, we will be sure to update and inform all muns in the game.
DID YOU SAY THIS GAME HAS AN END DATE?
In a sense, yes. This game has a very dark, twisted, deep, underlying plot that is in place to gave the muns something to drive their RP and to give the story a purpose. Think of this game a bit like a mystery and your job is to find out the secrets behind Nation Corp., as it is now.
As it stands now, Twelve (12) months after the start date, the story will end. All the events have already been pre-written and planned for the muns to enjoy but because of this, we are requesting only very dedicated RPers join this game as it will be very involved and will require active participation.
The plot will end in 12 months, though this does not mean the game will be over. You are still more than welcome to play here, and if people are interested, we will still run events, but the main plot will end at that time and it will return to a more free-based RPG.
WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON?
Well, now. It wouldn't be fun to just tell you. As the game progresses clues will be given to your characters ICly. That does not mean the clues will always be obvious, in fact, they may be quite cryptic in nature. It is important to pay attention to NPC posts in particular.
If you are wondering how there are secrets in the game, or at a loss to see any, we will give you a great starting point: Why were all the old members of Nation corp fired and why do you feel like you are being watched?
CAN MY CHARACTER BRING THEIR CHILD/SIGNIFICANT OTHER WITH THEM?
Due to the plot of this game, numerous details cannot be disclosed here; however, beyond pets, we are not allowing people to bring in their own NPC characters.
Your character may be taken from their residence without warning for days or weeks on end and as children can not really get by on just an automatic feeder and a dish of water, we frown on this.
To add to this, plot-wise, as all characters were hand picked, the deciding team specifically avoided picking people who had dependents and leaned towards people who were [currently] unwed. So in short: NO CHILDREN. NO SPOUSES.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO POST?
For the average monthly activity check, we will ask for Two of the following:
[☀] A thread of a minimum of ten of your own comments in an action post (Ncorp2go)
[☀]Any top level post. -- Meaning, any post to either the NCorpLogs (prose) or to NCorp2Go (action).
(Top-Level post is any new entry into the community. Eg. Posting a new log for others to tag.)
[☀]Any participation in a third-person prose log
Posts in the BBS do not count towards activity, though we encourage muns to be active there as much as possible, especially since posting there is so easy.
HOW DOES TIME WORK IN THIS GAME?
They day you post the log is the day it is in game. Simple enough.
HOW DO THE COMMS WORK? WHERE DO I POST [ PROSE/ACTION/BBS/OOC ] ?
There are three comms for posting. This was due to a discrepancy in the meaning of "action log" the first time around and should help us all organize our work. Downside is, you have to watch 3 comms instead of 2, or 1. Still. At this time, this is th method we have adopted. That said, here they are:

This community is for your prose logs. [AKA. Log Roleplaying]
[[♨]] NCorp2Go (Action + BBS) -
This community serves two purposes: Action logs and BBS posts. That does NOT mean memes, which are restricted to the OOC comm.
[] BBS option: When using the *bbs tag in this community, you are posting a forum style post. The BBS serves as the companies inter-office forum/blog. It is just like any other forum you have ever been on except that it is strictly in character.
[] Action post option: When using the *action tag in this community, you are posting a forum style post. For those unfamiliar with LJ RP, Action Posting (AKA. Journal Roleplaying) is a bit of a short form of RP.

# Log Roleplaying vs Journal Roleplaying! What's the difference?
Logs are typically prose: meaning written in paragraph format with dialogue encased in quotation marks; in other words, like any book you have read ever. Journal roleplaying is generally first person and dialogue-heavy, with thoughts (show in italics or using strike-through) and actions (usually designated in brackets, asterisks, or parentheses); this form is the most common on LJ RP. Unlike community-based vs journal-based RPing where the differences are minute, there are some distinct pros and cons to both log and journal roleplay. Often, journal roleplays have a log community where prose-based writing can go in.
# Log Roleplaying!
PROS! Allows for an easier way to describe settings, feelings, appearances, and actions. CONS! Are often time-consuming and draining; often, since things to describe run low once characters start talking heavily, it degrades into journal roleplaying. Often, situations--such as a short conversation amounting to three pieces of dialogue--become tedious to do in log format.
# Action (Journal) Roleplaying!
PROS! Allows for quick, easy interactions and the majority of journal-based RPs DO have a log-based community to along with it. CONS! More difficult to describe thoughts, feelings, and scenery, and can be INCREDIBLY tedious to use with large amounts of action.
# Which do I pick?
I personally go with journal-based so long as there's a logs community. I also use log roleplaying in my journal-roleplying journals sometimes! So long as it's not against the rules of the game, you can write in prose even if the rest of the game doesn't; it might be best to keep that to special occasions, though: the type that benefit from lots of descriptions and a lot of actions. Journal-based allows for much faster-paced interactions. Basically, it comes down to two things: personal preference and what the particular situation calls for.
If you have any questions on formatting, please contact a mod right away and we will be happy to help you-- we prefer spending a few minutes to help you out over hours of deleting and asking for post reformation from muns.
WHAT IS THE BBS? HOW DO I USE THIS?
BBS stands for Bulletin Board System, and, as previously stated, this part of the community if set up to be like an inter-office blog of sorts. Thus, this part of the community will be entirely in FIRST PERSON with emphasis on dialog. Actions are discouraged since, well, this is an internet chat forum and you can't very well punch/hug/molest/feed someone through the screen, and the like.
You can post all sorts of mundane things here (interesting things, too.) It is like any other forum you have been on in the past. You can post asking where your stapler is, how long the coffee in the break room has been sitting, etc. Or post a grievence with something going on at work-- but this is probably discouragable since your boss can see it, as there is no anonomous posting at his time. You can even post party invites on it.
However, I cannot stress enough this point: on the BBS you -CANNNOT- post memes here unless they are IC like "If you were handed a stack of chewing gum instead of your paycheck, what would you do?". Mods have the right to delete your post if it is OOC.
To note that you are posting in the BBS, please include "[BBS]" in your posts (not comments subject) title line, and use the *bbs tag.
WHERE CAN WE POST IC MEMES? I LOVE MEMES OMGUDONTEVENKNOW!!
Oh, you silly kid with your memes. If you wish to post a meme like "love at first sight" meme, "morning after" meme, ie. any meme that requires roleplaying, you should post them on the OOC comm.
HEY, MY CHARACTER IS NOT FROM HERE. WHAT ABOUT THE LANGUAGE BARRIER?
While this is a mun choice, for coherence in the game, we ask that either you explain why they know English or just hand-wave it all together. You can have your character speak poor English, but they must have some workable ability for the game to prosper.
MY CHARACTER IS FANON AND JUST BECAME CANON-- WHAT DO I DO?
It sounds like it is time for your character to see some changes. Sex change is of course optional, but if there is an official name for this new canon character, have your character go down and have it changed/ adopt a new nick name/ etc. and if possible have them go in for a make over at the nearby salon.
If the character becomes official in a real major sense, not just a physical image, such as receiving a defined personality, background info, etc., please contact a mod ASAP, if we don't contact you..
HOW OLD DOES MY CHARACTER HAVE TO BE?
20 years old minimum, but we encourage characters to be 22 years or older when possible.
SHOULD I USE MY CHARACTER JOURNAL FOR ANYTHING?
Yes, we encourage all muns to use their own character journals to post contact information and the all vital "HOW'S MY DRIVING" post. Everyday musings from the mind of the character should be posed on the BBS.

SOMETHING HAS COME UP. HOW LONG CAN I BE ON HIATUS WITHOUT BEING CONSIDERED MIA?
We are busy too, so we understand that there are just those times when there is nothing you can do about your situation. So, we adopt a 3 week policy on minor/sub characters and 2 weeks on a major character. However, we ask that instead of a hiatus, declare a slowatus and try to post when possible.

I NEVER HAVE ANYONE TO RP WITH. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
This is a serious problem and if this is your current situation, please consider putting up a character plotting thread on the OOC comm. Another solution might just be to add your fellow muns contact info to your messaging program (etc.), which can be found in the main contact list. Still,The best ways to get actively involved in an RP would be to post in the numerous events as they are open to everyone and easy to jump into. Also, a very popular and fun way many of our members have chose is to engage in the online Nation Corp. web chat. Found here. If all else fails, contact a mod.
I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS CHARACTER WAS DROPPED-- WHY AREN'T THEY ON THE RESERVES LIST?
Due to a certain time limit on this game, only Major and Sub characters will be returned to the reserve pool. If you would really like to play a minor character that was dropped, please contact a mod for special considerations.
