A Misunderstood Role

I am a CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) - I say this not to blow my own horn but to indicate I have a certain level of proficiency and knowledge (although, I am one of only 230 CBAPs in the WORLD!). 
It continually amazes me when people in organizations speak of requirements gathering in an effort to implement a software solution (
