So today in a meeting someone proudly proclaimed that "We [my company] are not good at planning, but one we get into implementation - problem solving and doing thigs - we are ok".

you tell me - does that seem like a problem?

It seems reationary when being visionary is called for.

People are one or the other I think. They don't get to choose, and they don't get to be both. However, there's another school of thought which claims one can train to become visionary.

My job is very reactionary. I don't think it's necessarily the "wrong thing" it's just not the "whole thing." I won't argue whether we are good at. I think we're actually better at being proactive when we try - as being reactionary *requires* that trauma occur first - which is not a good thing, in business or families.
