okay, i need some help here. my boyfriend was assaulted by a police officer yesterday. he was pulled over for absolutely nothing, he had waved at the cop to tell him to go ahead and turn in front of him, and the cop turned around and followed him and pulled him over! he lied to him, told him his tail light was out, and spent a long time ( Read more... )

No, they're not usually that hardcore. I've been searched numerous times and they're supposed to lightly pat or touch anywhere you might have a weapon. I've had very nice cops pat me down (not even touching my genital area), and I've also had a somewhat painful testicle grab from a very not nice cop. I've always assumed it was a case of sadism and power-madness mixed with buried homosexual feelings. I hope you two can find a little justice.

my mom says you should report the incident to the chief of police (if it was in town) or the sheriff's department for the county, just in case other incidents are reported about that guy then they can maybe figure out who it probably was and do a review of him. Also, she works for the Chamber of Commerce here in boone and says you should also send a copy of that letter to nathan's town's chamber of commerce.

in addition to filing a report with the police and the chamber of commerce, you should file a complaint with the aclu-tn. it's not likely that they would take your case, but they will send you a letter detailing your rights in that situation, and what you should do as far as keeping records of the incident, reporting the incident, etc. this could be especially helpful if he continues to be harassed. here is their contact information:
