Happening this weekend in Downtown Raleigh: The grand opening of the new children's museum, the annual BikeFest with 100,000 bikers and biker groupies (per media report) converging on Moore Square/Fayetteville Street, AND the NC Pride Night Festival - all at the same time, in the same general vicinity. Exactly. I feel a little sorry for those living downtown. They're building block after block of mid- and highrise condos, trying to push downtown as a place to live, work, and play - but it kind of sucks if you're stuck at home sick with a headache or something and 100K bikers are roaring around outside! Frankly I think the state fairgrounds would make a better venue for BikeFest.
