The Dell saga continues........

So, without so much as an automated cookie cutter response from the "Dell advocate" I e-mailed in over a week, I decided to step up the game, and have submitted a complaint to the NC Attorney General, and the Better Business Bureau.  I am not expecting any response from dell at this point, as it is apparent they don't give a shit how crappy of a ( Read more... )

In the past I've had a lot of success with Dell computers, however, recently their level of support and the quality of their product has dropped through the floor. I have made the decision that they will no longer be a company that I support, or purchase products from. Now if Apple would just produce an OS that would run on x86, i'd reformat all my PC (well any not currently running Linux) to apple and be 100% done with WinBlows too.

Same goes here....I haven't had the first problem with my dimension desktop I purchased prior to the laptop, it is like 5 years old now, and still runs perfectly......I like my new work optiplex machine, have had no problems with it at all, but after seeing a product review page of my Inspiron model and seeing well over 100 people with the exact same problem I have had, it leads me to believe Dell REALLY hosed people and needs to do something to correct a manufacturing flaw in a machine that cost a pretty penny.

well, like I said, I have had no other complaints with Dell, their other products have been great, but this is obviously a manufacturing flaw that many people have brought to their attention, and instead of doing something to right it, they want to charge an outrageous amount to fix it.

I dread the time when I'll need to purchase a new computer. If you had it to do over again, what brand would you buy (money not being an object?)

I love my sony vaio whatever # it is. I also love my G4.

One can love both.

mac just takes time to get used to...It is better...it just has limitations due to there being less out there for it & having to switch everything over to it...OR you can just run a windows platform on a mac & be done with it.

Couple years ago I had to buy a new computer & needed it FAST, cuz forward momentum on meeting a huge deadline hinged on it. Talked to some Dell drone, figured out the machine I wanted & ordered it, her promising that I'd have it in my greedy lil fingers within 5 business days. Long story short, Miss Granola Head failed to alert me that one of the features I wanted wouldn't be available on that model for weeks, so the time by which I needed the machine had already passed before I even discovered the order had gone, like, MUTHAFUGGIN NOWHERE this whole time. From that point I seem to recall a days-long blur of multiple phone calls, lonnnggg on-hold periods, being transferred to managers, managers of managers, & subcontractors of managers, and all sort of Plans B, C, D, and Z before the reality hit that these hosebrains couldn't get me anything remotely resembling what I needed anytime before the Second Coming of Christ ( ... )
