Oh wow.

You know, I can relate to that whole bit about your now-ex than you'd think. The whole not wanting to hang out with him and your Psi/other friends at the same time ESPECIALLY. :-p It's really hard to forget all the stupid shit people do sometimes, and it's easy to be on the edge every time they're out in public, just WAITING for them to do something stupid to make you feel embarrassed/stupid/something.

I'm glad you can relate! Seriously. It's really hard, because I'm not used to being cautious or on edge when I'm with my friends - and it shouldn't have to be that way! I just recieved an email from him saying that he feels uncomfortable around me because I won't talk to him. I'm just not ready to. It'll be a while before I can sit down around him comfortably and do that... *sigh*

but it makes me feel better that I can have someone to chat with whose been there :)
