So, I'm keeping up with my promise of updating my journal... so I've got more new things to share with you guys about.... which is the new addition of my family!

Here is TOKOLOSH !
She is a full blooded English Bull Terrier... Not to be confused with a Pit Bull, or Am. Staff Terrier... She's a rarer, sweeter, clownier dog that is of a whole different ( Read more... )

I don't know when we could go again - but I'd like to try again though. I've taken her to the dog park over at Millbrook and she's done really well so far.

She is so beautiful! I am so jealous! I've been wanting a dog so badly lately! (Probably to replace the cold spot in my bed that used to be my husband..hahaha). I know she couldn't have a better mom than you! What does her name mean?

What my name "Tokolosh" means: The people of South Africa believe in the powerful, mischievous and evil Tokolosh. Traditional magic and superstition have always formed an integral part of South Africa's indigenous folktales, in which the Tokolosh is a significant manifestation. The Tokolosh is a short, hairy creature from Bantu folklore. The name "Tokolosh" refers to a little monster or demon spirit, which can become invisible by swallowing a pebble. Tokoloshes are called upon by malevolent people to cause trouble for others. Its power extends to causing illness and even death upon the victim. The way to get rid of him is to call in the n’anga or witch-doctor who has the power to banish him. It seems incredible to most of us that there could be any truth in the legend of the Tokolosh or the power of the witch-doctor, but they do exist to many rural and urban Nguni peoples, particularly the Zulu and Xhosa, where superstition and legend are very much alive.
