Today was supposed to be my first day at Starbucks. I get there 10 minutes early. I get ignored for those 10 minutes. Then the manager comes out and tells me to take a seat. I sit for another 10 minutes and she comes out and says "I got good news and I got bad news

That is so stupid I mean even if she can't directly work with you there's nothing wrong with having you help out and get familiar with the inner workings…btw which one are you working at?
