Been reasonably quiet for the most part. Only real freaking out has been regarding orders / buyback, since the buyback is next Wed - Friday, and nobody I work with has had any experience setting it up, just running it. This should prove .... interesting

Sounds like she's what I like to call a "quit in progress". I've seen a lot of people do this who eventually quit. She's to the point where she doesn't care and thus doesn't think it's important to be there for the last two weeks. I've also seen people who give two weeks notice do this their last two weeks as well. It's rather sad; usually indicates they don't respect the job. I don't think those people ever get positive references from the place they worked.

She was already out of luck if she was expecting a positive reference in the first place. Company policy is that no references can be given, and the only thing HR can do is verify employment dates.
