me too! as i was falling asleep reading it last night at 10:30pm (i am 82) i kept telling myself, i must post this on livejournal tomorrow! i must remember! and i had forgotten, until i read peskyaura's post this morning.
it reminds me of a michael stipe quote i read about 10 years ago when he wasn't open to national media about being gay. he said "labels are for food, not people." i love that one too. society is obsessed with putting people in categories, which is so silly. people are tons of different things.
"“My sexuality is my own sexuality. It doesn’t belong to anybody. Not to my government, not to my brother, my sister, my family. No.” Ashraf Zanati, one of The Cairo 52, a group of men imprisoned for homosexuality in Egypt, in the documentary Dangerous Living: Coming Out in the Developing World.
