Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head, with the bullet going right through her brain. Six persons have been killed, including a nine year old. In order to convince myself that the USA is not just one sick, sick, sick, sick country I went and watched one of the few segments of "Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael" on YouTube

Not just you, man. But really - the loudest to speak are usually the most fanatical, the most unreasonable people. They're the minority whether or not it feels otherwise (and it certainly does these days).

As one teacher mentioned to me while discussion black stereotypes but it feels semi-relevant - "thugs come in all colors. trash is trash, it's not racist to describe someone treating people poorly as a piece of crap". (nevermind that race didn't seem to be an issue here - moreso making the point that hey - an asshole is an asshole in every country.)

I have to take issue with having to "convince yourself" of that. That low life scum sucking slime ball was one man out of a population of 308.7 Million people. In any population that large you are going to have a few nut jobs

She was just a little girl and she just had her first communion. That's what did it for me.

I'm going to watch Lilo and Stich again. Further attempt at convincing myself.
