Did any of you watch this show on Nickelodeon when you were a kid? Remember Danny the horse caretaker? Good depiction of a native or not?

I remember it pretty clearly actually. Danny was Hopi and there was an episode on him helping an archaeologist who ends up digging up an indian burial which she trys to put on display but he gets her to rebury it. He was actually kinda one of my heroes when I was a kid. It's campy now, but for the time I thought it was really progressive.

I'm impressed that you remember that specific episode. It's been so long since I've seen that show. I'm glad you saw him as a hero. What heroes do the kids have these days.. and I'm talking tribal heroes?

This is an interesting question. I watched Hey Dude, but I don't remember much of it now, none of the characters really.

The only kids TV programming I'm familiar with is The Backyardigans and Sesame Street, my daughter isn't old enough yet for anything else. I haven't noticed any native or tribal heroes in either show.

So I'm interested if anyone can answer the question too. "What heroes do the kids have these days..."
