Sorry for the cryptic emo post yesterday, I guess I've just been feeling a bit lonely and isolated and I just had to vent some stupidity. Thanks for all the good thoughts, I can be oversensitive and yesterday was just one of those days ( Read more... )

If your mailman can fold a package from me he deserves a medal! But yes, there's a package going out for you on Friday(I want to finish one thing up)and it'll be the usual two heavy slabs of cardboard in brown paper, I've had too many packages mauled any other way.

There is a real seperation when you have a baby, and a lot of friends do not know how to deal with you and the issue itself. You are not able to do the same activities you once shared. You will find your true friends will come over/go out despite you having to lug 10 tons of stuff, and having to disappear to feed/change/sooth baby. A lot of people just need time to adjust. It is hard not to take it personal because it is *so lonely* to have a young child, but I am 99.9% sure your friends are not trying to dis' you, they just do not know how to deal.

I agree with Caribou - don't take it personally! They might not be used to you + 1, I guess, and aren't sure what to do. I don't have any kids myself, but my sister (her son is now 3) said she felt similarly. She thought she was being snubbed, but really people weren't calling her because they thought: she was busy, she needed rest, the baby was sleeping, maybe she couldn't get away, etc. She reached out (with what energy she had, I know kids keep you busy!) and let people know that she'd like to hang out - she just needed notice to find a sitter and so on.
