So, here I am waiting to go see the doctor to make sure this horrible sore throat and general craptasticness is not Chicken Pox. I was exposed to it about two weeks ago and since Monday I've just been feeling run down and my throat is raw

Same here! I never had CP and dreaded getting it as an adult...I really hope it's not that. :(

I don't recall having a sore throat when I had chicken pox, but I do remember that I itched in a number of places.
