The viewing was nice and it had a ton of his family there and so many of you his friends.

Right there with you Ne. I wish I could have made it. I wasn't online due to my medical stuff over the holiday. When I saw the post, it was 3 pm. I probably could have made it before everyone left the parking lot and spent some time with friends, but I don't think I could have handled grieving in a small group. I could have handled it with everyone and seeing the slide show and hearing people talk and maybe talking some, too, but a smaller gathering some place else, I didn't think I could handle it.

I ended up working late. When I drove home, I sang a Black Angel Death Song for him and felt him walking with me for a bit. I would have danced with him a little, but I haven't been able to dance for a long time now. I cried a little in the process, but I know he knew how I felt. I believe that in death, all these things that get in the way in life like distance and work and plain bad luck aren't a problem anymore and that the spirits of those you love know your heart and can be with you whenever you ask them to - at least in the first
