No I wish just felt right to put there.
The pic had no artist listed either which is sad as I would like to know who did it.

Beautiful -- the image, the poem, and the sentiment.

I found out recently that my great grandad was full blood Cherokee. We don't know what family because he was adopted.
His last name was Darnell.
My great grandmother on my mom's side was Belle Morrison and she was also native as well.
There is also a story my grandad told me of relatives and that I have Sioux in me as well.
Been trying to track stuff down but shrug.
I love the history, the culture, and the clothing.

My grandfather was African Creole and Blackfoot -- I wish we knew more about that side of the family, but because of racist attitudes at the time, he had to "pass" (he was an oilman, started out working in the fields and worked for Phillips Petroleum for 55 years), because he could get away with looking like a deeply tanned "white" man with military-short black hair, copper skin, and black eyes. (It was obvious that he had some Native blood, but people were much more forgiving of that than African heritage at the time.)

I didn't even find out until many years after he died that he had hair as curly as mine . . .

. . . I'm glad that we live in a world where we can be more open and proud about our heritage, but I wish that all of the people who passed before had access to similar experiences, So many stories, and lives, lost along the way.

**hugs**
