I think it's always that experience with parents. We don't want to be like them, because when we're younger, we're so overprotected and we see everything they do wrong. As age increases, so does wisdom.

Well said. Though my father passed a while ago - mum is good enough not to say anything when I'm invited to lecture. This Sunday for example I'll be speaking at the State Library, Dad would have thought it grand I'm sure.
