Coming back after the Cdrama is done

So... now after the CDrama has been out for so long, do you still think Chinese productions aren't good enough?
I thought the show was fantastic and the casting spot-on, since apparently the author handpicked a lot of the cast.
I personally always thought that a Chinese novel based on the creation myths of China is best produced by Chinese showrunners and actors. Kdramas are good, but a story so tied to Chinese culture just doesn't translate as well.
