Thank goodness your direct involvement was short and sweet.
Missing radioactive sources sounds serious. What could they be used for?

Not sure TBH as the sources were quite old and not exactly highly radioactive but still radioactive none the less.

Just waiting now to hear if the case is to be passed onto the Procurator Fiscal and legal proceedings come out of it.

Where will the buck stop if the case is taken that far?
Will someone at the school be for the high jump?

I'm hoping that it rests with the authority ie Aberdeen City Council and not me!

From what the inspectors were saying, there are others on the hitlist that may at the very least get a severe talking to but hopefully not me as bar filling in the forms for the stuff to be disposed of initially, I'd had nothing to do with them.

Oddly enough we had a brush with radioactivity the other day at work.

Apparently there have been radioactive sources in a lead-lined box in the cupboard of the smoker's common room!!!!!!!

They must have been there over 10 years - obviously there's no checks on these particular ones!

Says it all about my place of work really!!

OMG!

That is as bad as our stuff going walkies. It's got to be at least 7m away from where people are regularly working.
