I made an LJ Community!

Inspired by my own obsessive musings and meta/question posts on other comms (the latest of which was pixelmayhem's post on kirk_mccoy asking about Shuttles and Bones' Phobia.

Which is why I'm officially blaming her for my actions. ;D

Dude, that's one of the first things I put on my "list of posts to link to" for when I start getting content posts going.

I LOVE THAT TIMELINE! I have it bookmarked and I refer to it quite often.

(This does bring up an interesting point though. Posting links to discussions and meta that were posted on other communities is fair game I think. But I'm wondering if I should comment on posts that are located in private journals to ask permission to post links to them... Any thoughts? I've never done a comm before.)

I would send a pm to those people to ask if it's ok to link to their meta's on your comm and explain what it is for etc. They would have to unlock their posts in order for other people to access. Any that are from other comms that you are linking too, I would post that you have linked to there from your comm. I know when I had a reccing comm we would contact people to let them know we had recced it and people seemed to really appreciate that little acknowledgment ( ... )

I saw the TW/ST comparison post too, when I was looking for meta posts on Kirk_McCoy. I haven't read it yet (I've never seen TW) but it sounds interesting. I'll post that too, when I get to posting links.

Oooooooo! That last meta sounds great! That would be really useful. I can't wait to read it! :D

thanks for the props! i'm flattered. lol :p that's wonderful that you created an st community like that. congrats! now we're both in the same boat, newbie mods. :p i wish you the best of luck with your site. let me know if you would like me to post links to it over at my community. i would put it in the sidebar with the list already there and include it as a resource in the current challenge/prompt entry. and whenever i get links or resource entries up in the future... well, as much of a newbie as i still am to being a mod, i would love to help and support your site in any way i can! and to note, i applaud you on your courage as well to head up a community. take care!

Oh, yes. We newbie mods must stick together. ^_^

I am still setting things up. I hope to be ready to announce it's existence sometime in the next few days (*crosses all fingers and toes*). So when I'm ready I'll let you know. I'd totally love to be affiliated with your comm!
