I think this is really awesome. I've also been wondering lately why Security gets the short end of the stick and why they're just there to, basically, die. I really love the idea of them being put in security because yeah, they could be smart and do the other stuff, but they'd so much rather be badass and learn new awesome ways to be even more badass. Plus, the reasoning for the red of their shirts is fantastic. So much love from this corner.

I'm really glad you enjoyed this. ^^ Security really was used in the series just to indicate to the audience that the situation was dangerous. And also to make Kirk and Spock look kick-ass in comparison. Useful for television, but very strange from a practical perspective.

I agree. I like the idea of Security personnel being highly competent and intelligent, capable and dedicated to their jobs. Instead of just cannon fodder. *pets Security*
