“What do you mean you don’t have anything to wear?”

Ohno fidgeted. From the other end of the line, Jun sounded kind of angry. Riida can almost imagine his deep scowl while he was saying this. But he shouldn’t be scared of what Jun may do to him. Just because he didn’t have those tuxes that Jun required for his party tonight wasn’t a good enough reason. It wasn’t his fault that today was laundry day and that he had to wear his only tux-if you think Ohno has a lot of those than you are dreadfully wrong-to some event a few days back. And for a good measure his mother was on a trip with some of her friends for the holiday. Maybe this was karma?

“I mean I don’t have anything to wear,”

“Do you have anyone you can borrow clothes from?”

The first person that pops into Ohno’s mind is Nino, who was of the same height and physique as him. But Nino was busy filming his new drama this morning. So there’s no one.

All right, Ohno is now halfway convinced that this was some elaborate plan the universe was setting on him.

“Uh. No.”

Ohno felt so disappointed in himself even though he knew he wasn’t really at fault. Jun had that effect on him-and pretty much on everyone else.

“Fine,” Jun said after a really long pause. “Come on over and we’ll see what we can do,”

And then he hung up.

--

Jun’s place was as perfect as it can be and Ohno felt weirdly out of place in his casual clothes amidst the gleaming floor and the elegant furniture. He was quite nervous because he knew this party was something Jun planned weeks for and he had everything nailed down to the last detail. This problem with Riida’s clothes was so trivial that it might irk Jun to no end. And it didn’t help that Jun hasn’t said anything to him since he opened the door.

The younger man led Ohno to his closet, his clothes neatly folded this time.

“Here, try this on,” Jun said, handing Ohno a tux from the closet. “I’m taller than you but let’s see how it fits.”

Ohno obeyed. Jun turned his back at him while Ohno took off his clothes and changed into the tux. All the while, Riida was glancing at Jun. The youngest Arashi member was too busy receiving and replying to his mail to even check on Ohno.

“MatsuJun,” Ohno called out. “You’re not mad, are you?”

Jun didn’t make a sound and just kept on pressing keys on his cellphone.

“MatsuJun,” Ohno called again. “I’m sorry that I don’t have anything to wear.”

Still no reply.

By this time, Ohno finished putting the tux on and was watching Jun intently, mentally commanding him to look a him so he can apologize and set things straight. But the DoS was one tough cookie to crack.

Ohno moved in front of Jun and placed his hand on Jun’s upper thigh, before calling his name again. This caused Jun’s muscles to tense up and finally, his eyes met Ohno’s. That got the effect that Riida wanted. Ohno grinned at Jun.

“That’s unfair, Riida,” Jun said in between clenched teeth.

“You’re not mad, are you?” Ohno asked yet again, eyes imploring.

Jun sighed. He got his own hand out and put it on top of Ohno’s, only to remove it from the very danger area that was his upper thigh and to place it somewhere safer, specifically his knee.

“All right, I’m not mad anymore,” Jun said. Ohno’s grin widened and he stepped back to show Jun how the tux fits him. The sleeves were a bit too long and the pants obviously looked like it weren’t his. Ohno looked like a little boy trying to dress up in his father’s clothes.

“What do you think?” Ohno asks.

“Definitely no. I think I have some of my older stuff in here, hang on,” Jun went to rummage in his closet again while Ohno rocked back and forth on his heels. He was never good at choosing clothes that weren’t his style. His mother usually did it for him. And right now Jun was the next best thing.

Jun returned with a smaller tux and Ohno wondered how old this particular outfit was. Ohno put it on. This time, it fit perfectly. The sleeves reached up to Riida’s palms and the pants were baggy enough to lend the outfit a slightly casual look.

“This looks great,” Ohno exclaimed in disbelief more than anything else. “How old is this?”

“Uh. I don’t remember,” Jun replied quickly.

“This is perfect. Thanks MatsuJun. Usually I would’ve gone to Nino at cases like this-”

Jun snaked an arm around Ohno’s small waist. “I’m glad you went to me this time. I think you look good in a tux-my tux at least.”

Ohno went to a mirror, with his arm around Jun’s and Jun’s arm around him, and admired how well the tux fit him. Jun was right. He looked good in the tux and there was no doubt he was glad to go to Jun for this one.

“Yeah. I should wear your clothes more often.”

SEQUEL?

“It’s unbelievable, this level,” Nino began, explaining the new game he was playing. Sho and Aiba were on his either side, sipping their drinks while listening. Ohno was istening too-while finishing the plate he filled up with buffet goodies.

Each bite sent an “umai” thought to Ohno and that only urged him to keep eating more. He was still hearing Nino although none of the words the gamer was satying registered to Ohno’s mind anymore.

“The boss is much stronger and-” Nino stopped and stared at Ohno, who was oblivious to almost everything but his food. “Riida, are you glittering?”

This had Sho and Aiba looking at Ohno too and indeed, he was glittering. Well, his tux was. Riida stopped eating just in time to hear Nino repeat the question.

“I am?” Ohno asked although he looked like he really didn’t care. After saying so, he shrugged and returned to his food.
