Your poem is very touching. I am amazed at how little I know about childhood strife in another country. Your poem gave me a glimpse of another world. I wish I could hug the child in the poem, especially because he/she seems to take the actions of the other characters as completely ordinary. Children are amazingly resilient.

No, thank you. You revealed quite a large part of yourself that now (looking back) must seem very sad. I've always felt that writers, lyricists, poets often risk so much of themselves with every word, if one only knows how to SEE.
