OMG, why haven't I read anything written by you before? This fic is glorious.

I love everything about it; the language with its lyrical feeling, the way you build, create and paint with words and sentences and I love the story in itself. I have actually never read anything about the Arthurian legend, just watched the BBC series, but somehow I think (or rather feel) that this is the underlying "theme"; it's just not a funny story about the adventures of two boys where one happens to be the king Arthur and the other one is Merlin, when I read your story I kind of got a feeling about all these numerous legends about the Once and Future King and it felt so much bigger than a silly (but very entertaining) tv-series, you know? gah, I have no idea what I'm writing right now, but I like this fic, really like it ♥

Just ... glorious, glorious.

Oh gosh, thank you so much!

Haha, I'm sort of the opposite of you: I have only really seen a handful of episodes from the show, but I love the idea and the characters and I especially love the legends, so that's probably the reason for the fusion of the two. Also I just make stuff up :).

You're absolutely lovely, thank you so much! ♥♥♥

To be honest, even though Merlin is the fandom I read most fics in I have only watched like ten episodes of it. The series is very good (and so slash-worthy!) but it isn't anything that change my world. But, it opened up the wonderful world of the Arthurian legends. The Merlin fandom is one of the fandoms where I actually like fanon more, because there are authors out there (like you!) who write all these wonderful, wonderful stories that really want me to start reading T. H. White and Marion Zimmer Bradley and all those other classics. though it will probably take a while before I read them since my to-read-list is of epic proportions and I tend to read like one book every third month when I'm in school, but still!

Yes, exactly. To be honest, I've given up on watching the show (I'm not really one to sit down and watch TV; I'm weird, I know!) but in this fandom, you can definitely get by with sticking to writing and reading canonical or modern AUs. I love The Once and Future King, so I do a lot of stealing from that and my vague understanding of Arthurian legends and I read MZB years and years ago, so I also shamelessly steal from her.

You should definitely read them, but I have a biased, epic love of Arthurian stuff, so possibly you should not take my word for it :).

Ho. Ly. Crap.
I don't even-- I can't even-- I--

I LOVED this poem, and those last lines burned themselves into my memory way back when I was still a sophomore in high school.

And you-- you--
I'm tired, sorry, but this is incredible.
(Because, you see, the end of life isn’t death.
And the last page of a book isn’t the end of the story.)
Do you know that I literally got chills? I can see how you tried to make it similar to Cummings's words, AND IT WORKED, but more applicable to me personally and less abstract and so now I love you forever even though I have no idea if I'll like the rest of your writing. This was just... wonderful. <33

<3 Thanks so much, I'm so glad this worked for you! I...will admit that I haven't read much of e.e. cummings (see: any) and in fact didn't even read the entire poem until I got your comment (because I am a horrible person), so to hear that the styles were similar is kind of wonderful :).

Thanks for reading!

100% honesty? I'm pretty sure that's the only e.e. cummings I've ever read, too, and I probably never would've heard of him if it wasn't for my English teacher.

But I'm really glad you replied, because right after I checked my inbox I was going to scourge my history files to track this story down again, because I'm not sure I added it to my memories like I was supposed to. And once I do that I'll stalk peruse your journal to see what other lovely things you've written, so you may see more of me.
