a/n: this is me stress writing because of college applications. yay for no dialogues!
Kyungsoo has figured out that Yifan’s favorite day is laundry day, so he’s not surprised when he finds him sitting in front of the still-running dryer when he returns from buying some pet products. He smiles to himself and goes to clean up the bags, setting the cans of fish, bag of cat food, and milk aside before going back to the laundry room.
He leans against the doorway and watches his cat stare intently at the dryer, tail swishing and right ear flicking every now and then the only signs of life. Kyungsoo shakes his head and chuckles softly, moving to accompany Yifan on the floor. Immediately after he sits down, Yifan curls into him, head resting on Kyungsoo’s small shoulder and tail wrapping around his waist. Kyungsoo has to move his head a bit to avoid getting hit by a twitchy ear and some piercings.
He’s in the middle of stroking the base of Yifan’s tail, earning a deep purr, when the dryer dings done and Yifan scrambles to open the door of the dryer. Kyungsoo laughs as he watches Yifan pull out the sheets that Kyungsoo had threw in the washer early in the morning and bury his face into it, tail swishing happily. Kyungsoo moves and takes the rest of the laundry out, somehow maneuvering over Yifan’s head, and sets it aside for him to fold later.
By the time all the laundry’s in the basket, Yifan’s made a nest on the laundry room floor, warm sheets spread on the cool tiles and the cat curled up on top of it. Kyungsoo sighs and nudges the cat’s rib to move him aside--he’s going to have to wash the sheets again--and tugs the sheets away from under Yifan before running out to the living room with it, Yifan in tow.
Long legs mean that the cat catches up to Kyungsoo in no time, and Kyungsoo laughs when he feels his pet pick him up and toss him to the couch, legs tangled in the white sheets. Yifan nestles on top of him, and Kyungsoo has to swat him away so they can properly cuddle on the small couch.
Kyungsoo ends up laying on top of Yifan’s broad chest, white, slightly-warm sheets wrapped around both of them. He feels Yifan’s tail wrap around his ankle and the tip rub against his foot. It tickled, but Kyungsoo doesn’t have the heart to tell him to stop because Yifan’s warm and their position’s comfortable and the sheets may be a bit cold now but Yifan’s arms are wrapped around his small frame and his cat is nuzzling his hair.
Kyungsoo has figured that Yifan’s favorite day is laundry day, and he’s come to terms that if every laundry day is like this, it may become his favorite day, too.
