Syrians Torch Embassies Over Caricatures
Every year there are hundreds of anti-semetic and anti-whatever-is-unislamic cartoons posted in "Islamic" journals, magazines, and newspapers from Morocco to Indonesia, often with the support and influence (and shall we not forget $$$$!) of corrupt power-figures and "elected/representative" governments. I've had it with the walking-on-eggshells attempt at diplomacy that so many international powers have upheld in regards to relationships with Muslim nations and their governments for the sake of oil and "national interest". How many times can we accept such violent reactions and attrocities against anyone who does not accept the pathway of Mohammed (PBUI) simply on the basis that the Communist News Network (i.e. CNN) finds it so prudent to impress upon us the view that they are "so oppressed" and that the "Zionists" (as these radical Arabs describe anything UN-Arab) are trying to take over the world in the guise of the western powers? Call me conservative, "zionist", or hell! Call me Satan or "infidel" if you want, but I'm completely fed up with their whining and bitching about oppression and super-nationalism. Sure, the British fucked everything up. They played both sides. They convinced both the Zionist and Arab lobbies of the region that nationalist agendas were the way to go. They provoked the Jewish and Muslim communities into confrontation (not unlike two roosters being placed in a ring together!). Then they had to separate them like to little school kids having it out in a schoolyard. The land was partitioned (into regions that were ALREADY either of a Jewish or Muslim majority!), the Jewish folks took it upon themselves to proclaim their little slice of the pie a state, and then some 5 or more nations took it upon themselves to attack the fledgling nation, which, according to the declarations of the mandate, was a legitimate state. That TINY (can I express how TINY?) state managed to kick all of their asses and make territorial gains. When in history has such a thing happened wherein a nation so provoked has entered willingly into treatices and land-deals to return such territory? The Arab/Muslim world has to get over whatever is under their turbans and accept the fact that Israel is here to stay, and to stop blaming every little thing that goes wrong in the world on the Palestinian/Israeli situation, and stop using that situation as an excuse to continue their vicious tirades! Does the world even blink an eye when some cartoon shows up on al-Jazeera or in al-Ahram or the Tehran Times showing an extemely overly charicatured Jewish man cutting up a little baby? Do the Jews go out and start burning down or overrunning Arab embassies because of it? NOOOOO! They just DON'T READ IT or they just LET IT GO!
GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELVES AND REALIZE THAT YOU DO NOT OWN THE WORLD AND CANNOT CONTROL THE FREEDOM OF THE PRESS OF ANY NATION EXCEPT YOUR OWN!
I realize that the individuals who posted those cartoons had absolutely no respect for the thoughts and feelings that might have been provoked by their actions, but please, take into consideration the same feelings of the Jews and Christians affected by the posting of similarly outrageous cartoons in your own papers before you bitch.
