A Few Thoughts On 44
~This is a reference post for linkage in future posts so I do not have to keep repeating myself and also for clarity and consistency.
It is self evident to me that Every Single Occupant of The Oval Office has gotten there with, at the very least, the consent of The Oligarchy or some significant faction thereof. If you considered that 'paranoid', I suggest you read some Hofstadter or Oglesby.
That said however, let me point out that Barack Obama has the positive distinction of not being a malevolent sociopath. While that might seem like damning with faint praise, it is certainly a significant improvement.
And that he is pissing off folks all across the political spectrum could be considered a positive sign that he might actually be doing the job he was hired for - saving The Republic from utter ruin - not matter who really hired him.
I have said before, and will say again, that I strongly believe The Evil Dick was only supposed to shepherd The Idiot through a single bland term in order to dis-empower the Neo-Cons and The Dominionists, but instead functionally staged a coup, with the support of The Energy Faction, against the rest of The Oligarchy and over the course of the next eight years nearly destroyed The Republic.
I also believe The Oligarchy chose Obama because he is a High Quality Product and is also a 'tip of the hat' to the ever darkening nature of the American Electorate. It remains to be seen how all this will play out.
And whatever my reservations about the man, I truly do hope he survives his full two terms...and I do not mean just 'politically.'
