The people at the bridal salon, that is. SIX FUCKING TIMES have I called about my bridesmaid dress. SIX. TIMES. And every time I call, I get the same bullshit: I haven't paid the balance on the dress, therefore it can't ship out. HELLO?! What the fucking fuck? You have my credit card on file, twats! I've authorized you to charge my card for the ( Read more... )

It's always sad when mail order, which is *supposed* to make life easier, ends up being an even bigger hassle. It's the same logic that says the cheapest flight between SFO and LAX is via Seattle.

Glad to hear Lucy is doing well. I'd love to have a dog, but a problem of insufficient space in the house plus allergies rather precludes that. :(

I am SO pissed for you! Didn't you say in another post that this was the Macy's bridal store (or something like that?) Either way, can you call someone higher up in the pecking order than the idiots you've already called? It's totally ridiculous and you should definitely write a letter to the company too - when it's all said and done. However, maybe you can try one more time to get a manager to personally assure you they will send it out so you don't need to schlep into the city to pick it up? Grrrrr! Good Luck!

As someone who charges customers' credit cards on a regular basis as part of her job, there is absolutely no need for this ridiculousness. There should not be any need for you to shlep all the way into the city to pick up a dress which, by rights, you've already paid for. It doesn't take more than a couple of minutes to charge your card for the balance! Call the store up again, ask to speak to whoever is keeping track of the balance on your account (Idiot Alpha), and tell them to charge your card for the remaining balance while you wait on hold. They may grumble and whine, but there ain't no reason why it can't be done. If they protest, ask to speak to their supervisor. Charging a card takes about 1 minute for an authorization, and then an additional minute for the actual charge, so this is a task that can be completed while you're on the phone with them.

I spoke to the manager of the store yesterday and reamed her a new one, albeit through politely gritted teeth. She apologized up and down, blah blah blah. I told her that I just did not trust the store to ship my dress to me, regardless of her assurances, and that I would be picking it up. The manager offered me free alterations but I said no, it was too inconvenient for me to make multiple trips into the city ( ... )

Hey! Do you still use this? I am a lover of your writing and would friend you in an instant if you do. Ever. :)

Also, I can jump on the bridesmaid dress hate bandwagon. Not so much the dresses themselves (though I won't say that I love them) as the entire process. Ugh. For some reason, it can never go smoothly. And the end result of all the aggravation? A dress that kind of sucks and is way overpriced.

Anyhow... if you do still keep up with livejournal, let me know and I'll friend you so fast it'll be scary. A Very Thin Line is one of my all time favorite stories. EVER. *loves*
